Design

Huawei P9 is externally beautiful and elegant machine. P9 is thinner than the iPhone 6s and it is impressively designed in metal and glass, and in spite of such a thin body, its camera does not pop outside of its dimensions as the most cameras do.

P9 front is largely covered with screen and is protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 4 glass slightly curved towards the edges. Above the screen are the speaker headset with LED, open sensor and the self camera. Below the display is only Huawei logo, while the navigation key is drawn on the screen.

Huawei is P9 equipped and new USB port C, which is located in the middle of the bottom edge. On one side is the grid of the main speaker, the other microphone and 3.5 mm headphone output.

Camera

Huawei P9 has, this year, promoted P9 as the ultimate smartphone camera, better than any other on the market. They should help the German Leica, which has offered its expertise, recommended optics and participated in the creation of software algorithms.

Huawei P9 on the back of the eye has two cameras, both equipped with 12 megapixel sensors, one for color images, and the other for recording black and white photos. PDAF fast autofocus is so fast that optical image stabilization is not necessary and although the impressively quick focusing and shutter release, the good old OIS he would not hurt.

Opening of both rear camera and 1.12 micron pixel size is f / 2.2, if this this data means anything to you. P9 captures 1080p 60fps video, but not 4K as it, realistically, still isn’t a defect – but let the customers be the judge.

The front selfie camera has 8MP sensor and f / 2.4 aperture, the virtual flash, the software tricks beauty and captures 1080p video.

Software

Huawei P9 runs Android 6 Marshmallow with Huawei Emotion UI 4.1 user interface. No tray applications, but they are scattered around the site of the home screen, and they look like a mix of the Apple iOS and Xiaomi MIUI’s.

Lock screen will each time, in order to to surprise you, change to other wallpaper and provide a shortcut to quickly start the camera by pushing it up until you unlock the screen normally, by sliding your finger on it. There’s also a handy control panel borrowed from iOS, which on the lock screen – by pushing the bottom up – offers shortcuts for Calculator, flashlight, camera and Dictaphone, but you can not choose shortcuts.

Performance & Battery

Huawei P9 runs strongest Huawei’s chip Hisilicon Kirin 955, made up of four Cortex A72 cores (which are clocked at 2.5 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz for something less demanding tasks). Obviously, the difference between him and Kirin 950 is only in the higher clocked cores. To assist them, there’s 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM (64 GB model) and Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card. There are models with 32 and 64 GB of internal memory expandable with microSD cards. .

The performance of Huawei P9 is generally at the highest level. Navigating the interface is smooth, web content opens fast, multimedia spins flawlessly, and it will never disappoint the most demanding gamers.

USB OTG – have not tried this, but is supposedly supported.
