Over the year 2019 and also starting in 2020 Samsung brought out a lot of new “Budget” phones. This is where the Samsung Galaxy A series is known for.
In this blog I will specifically talk about the following phones: The Samsung Galaxy A10s, A30s, A50s, A51, A71. I will compare them to each other. Also i will give an reccomendation to whom i think these phones are for.
Kicking off with the Samsung Galaxy A10s.
This is clearly a phone that is targeted towards the budget phone market. It only has a 720p display with only 2 GB of ram. Phones these days have minimally 6 GB of ram. And a minimal of 1080p display. So to be this basic it is below the mid tier market. With a price tag of around 150 euros it is also the least expensive phone on the list of phones I am discussing today.
This phone is for people that are using a phone for social media and for chatting and calling. If u want to make nice pictures. Or if u are looking for a phone to consume media. This phone is not for U.
Gaming should not even be tried on this device.
It comes with the new One UI from Samsung. This is a big plus. Samsung flagships also run this software.

Next up is the Samsung Galaxy A30s.
The Samsung Galaxy A30s is a step up from its cheaper brother. It has a higher storage capacity, and has a slightly better processor. However, the phone still has a 720p display. Don’t expect to see 4k Netflix series on this device. Light games are very playable. But heavier games do stutter sometimes. This phone also comes with the new One Ui from Samsung. This puts it in line with the flagship models. The display of the A30s is slightly bigger than the 10s 6.4 inch. The A30s has 4 GB of ram. This really helps with the speed of loading apps, and also is able to keep more apps open in the background. This makes the phone better at multitasking than the A10s. The phone has expendable storage up to 512 GB. So storage should not be a problem.
This phone is for people who want a usable phone. That does not take the nicest photos. And people who do not want to consume media on it.
If you want to take nice pictures or u want to bench watch Netflix. Look elsewhere.

Let’s continue with the Galaxy A50s
The A50s Has improved in many ways over its cheaper brothers. First of all. The main camera has been bumped up from 25MP to 48MP. The selfie camera also improved from 16MP to 32MP. The display has also been upgraded from 720p to 1080p. This is great for consuming content on Netflix and YouTube. The CPU has also been updated. This will make the phone more snappy and it will preform better in gaming performance. This phone also has a 6GB ram variant. This will increase the amount of tabs that could be open in the multitask window. Multitasking in general will improve. The phone has expendable storage up to 512 GB just like its cheaper brothers. So storage should not be a problem. Battery life is the same as the cheaper models. But it is plenty to go trough the day. Like every other phone in this list, the A50s does also come with Samsung’s One Ui. This is one of the best android skins there are.
This phone is for the average consumer. It is a nice middle ground for people who use there phone for taking pictures. Also this phone is nice for people who want to play games every now and then. Movies and tv shows are not a problem here perfectly watchable.
But if u want the best of the best. Look Elsewhere.

A couple of months after the A50s came the A51 Let talk about it below.
The Galaxy A51 is a modernized version of the A50 and A50s. It has a holepunch notch instead of a raindrop notch. Specs wise the A50 does not differ much from the A50s. There Is a new Macro lens included in the back of the phone. This will allow you to make better photos up close. Processor RAM and storage are the same as the A50s. So for gaming and watching content it is quite decent.
These are the biggest Changes between the 2 devices. Is the A51 worth 50 Euro’s more? That is something the consumer may decide.

January 2020 the Galaxy A71 was released to the public. Down below I will compare the differences between the A51 and the A71.
The Galaxy A71 costs 100 euros more than the A51 and comes with an older Snapdragon 730 Chipset. However despite it being older it is still more powerful and energy efficient than. The new Exynos 9611 that the A51 has. The A71 Also comes in a 8 GB version. This all together makes the A71 better at gaming and multitasking. The screen of the phone will still be 1080p. So if u want an even crisper 2k screen. Look elsewhere. But 1080p is good enough for most content you will consume. Just like the A51 the A71 has a ultrawide, macro and dept camera below the original (wide) lens. The Wide lens is however upgraded from 48mp to 64mp. However all the other lenses stay the same as the A51. The A71 also has a slightly bigger battery, this will give the phone more longevity in the battery department. You’re still going to get trough a full day, so that will definitely help.
