Galaxy A5 (2017) | Spare Parts available

The beginning of the year is traditionally marked by the arrival of Samsung Series mid-priced smartphone – Galaxy A. The first in this series is a 5.2-inch Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017).

This year’s model yields a more powerful processor, more memory, better camera, and even resistance to water and dust, which is hardly anyone expected. We will see to it that the promising 3000 mAh battery, excellent camera and proverbially high quality workmanship.

Design, Housing & Handling

The new A5 is designed pretty much like last year’s, but with the metal frame as a base between two glass surfaces. However, the difference is present in the design. On the back side are more curved flanks, which largely resemble the more expensive S7, and can be seen from a different radius of the rounded corners, so that the device looks far less square.
This form provides a more comfortable handling and generally better ergonomics.  The back part is not so slippery, so the probability of falling out of the hands is lower than the one made of aluminum, but if you still drop, expect more damage than the device with a plastic or metal background.
From the front, above the display we find earpiece, front camera and the Samsung logo on top, and a physical home button with capacitive control buttons below it. The rear side is classic. It contains only a camera and flash, but unlike last year’s A5, the camera module does not protrude, but is finely integrated into the surface with which it seems logical unit. Starboard traditionally contains the power button, but in this model an external speaker as well, which is quite unusual, as we used to see mainly on the lower edge.

At the bottom there’s a USB-C and 3.5 mm audio jack with a microphone, while the volume keys are on the left side. Additional strangeness are two drawers. One SIM card slot, which is located on the right side, and she memory on top of the device.  Missing LED light for notifications, as well as the previous generation. Of course, this is not necessarily a deal-breaker, but if you are on your old device used to light the notification, you will need some time to get used to.
